ABOUT MEI began my career in the sciences, as part of a cancer research team at the National Cancer Institute, and later as a facilitator for large environmental disputes. As an avid hiker and supporter of conservation efforts in the NW, I realized that art and science share this curiosity and passion for the environment around us.
I want my art to engage the viewer’s experiences and suggest that the world is a woven entity with interconnecting parts and multiple layers. I have been inspired by the work of Richard Diebenkorn, Nicholas de Staal, Matisse, Pierre Bonnard, Paul Cezanne, and Georgio Morandi. |

PORTFOLIORecent WorkIn these most recent paintings I am exploring emotions and the concept of selective vision, as in seeing things based on a particular frame of reference.
